Egypt 2009: October 15th On-call in Egypt
Posted by Egypt Team under: Egypt 2009.
We arrived on the ground around 330pm in Egypt. The excitement began with a sighting of the pyramids as we were landing in Cairo. As we retrieved our many large heavy bags and said goodbye to our other team members we were off to get on a bus and head to south Cairo. We were exhausted from the 12 hour flight and the night was yet young.
We were all excited to see our accommodations each having our own private room with a fan and a sink. God is faithful in the little things by having more than one shower for eleven women to share. We do not have AC or hot water. When you are hot a cold shower isn’t so bad.
Local church stopped by with an Egyptian dessert made of cream of wheat and a lot of sugar. They came to welcome us and share information about the children we will be serving in Garbage City. We will begin our work on Saturday seeing over 300 children.
Friday is Egypt’s sunday and school is closed. We will be touring Egypt tomorrow. Giza Pyramids here we come.
