First medical clinic in Reynosa

Today was a special day for OnCall in that it was the first official medical clinic held in Reynosa, Mexico. After a long-term relationship with Reynosa, this trip a small medical team was sent along to to a preliminary clinic and to judge the needs of the area for future OnCall trips.

The clinic started with many of the non-medical volunteers helping to prepare the church for the clinic and counting pills out in our ‘field pharmacy’.

Today the team saw almost 130 people at the canal and will continue tomorrow to see as many as possible before we head back to New York.

DUring the screenings today we saw a lot of colds, congestion, joint aches and a lot of kids in need of basic medical check ups. The team was able to give out some basic medication to help with most cases and really provide a type of care that hasn’t been seen before at the Canal.
