Being OnCall

Made up of over 150 volunteer medical professionals to date, OnCall: Medicine with a Mission, is a ministry of Times Square Church dedicated to bringing free medical care around the world to those who need it most.

The mission is simple. The need is great. For us it has become increasingly clear how important medicine is to missions.

In 2007, Times Square Church took a medical team of over 80 medical professionals to Burundi, Africa on one of our largest medical outreaches yet. The scene was overwhelming. Thousands of men, women and children in need of medical attention lined up under a blazing sun waiting for a chance, maybe the only chance they may ever have, to see a doctor. This all too familiar scene is played and replayed in almost every country we have taken medical teams. On every trip our medical teams treat hundreds, even thousands of those who may never have access to healthcare otherwise.

OnCall’s volunteer medical teams work alongside the local humanitarian and missions organizations supported by Times Square Church. The goal is to bring medical clinics throughout the year to these areas of the world, provide crisis relief medical assistance, and participate in scouting trips to areas of dire need.

OnCall welcomes all fields of medicine from EMT’s and medical students to surgeons and specialists. Our volunteer medical teams provide everything from basic vitamins and dental care to advanced medicine and complex surgeries. When the good Samaritan passed by the wounded man on the road he simply refused to leave him there to die. God calls us to be like this good Samaritan and care for the sick and afflicted that we find on our journey.
