The idea

OnCall is sending volunteer medical teams to Haiti every month in 2011. A big need in the tent cities is vitamins. The lack of a varied diet and nutrients is posing problems for people of all age groups – pregnant and nursing mothers, newborn infants, children, teenagers, women, men. Everyone. The need is immediate and we can do something about it today.

The need

Every OnCall medical team gives out approximately 15,000 adult vitamins and 15,000 to 20,000 infant and children’s vitamins per trip. Every adult and every child seen by an OnCall team member is given a 30 day supply of the vitamins they need. As you can imagine, we run out quickly.

The goal

Here is where you come in. Our goal is send at least 30,000 vitamins with each OnCall team for the rest of the year. That’s 300,000 vitamins total for 2011. So let’s say each bottle you purchase has around 180 vitamins in it. That’s approximately 1,700 bottles of vitamins!
OnCall teams travel the first Saturday to Saturday of every month. That means if we receive your vitamins in February, they will go to Haiti with the team in March, etc…

How do I give?
